Gimlet X-Ray showcases the mechanics of what
is going on with the guts inside of an OpenType
variable font. It exposes the control points and
Bézier curves that make up the letterforms.
And it also shows off the font’s
spacing and kerning information too!
The variable color font is available in
COLR/CPAL and SVG flavors, and was
released to the Font of the Month Club
in January 2020. I think you’ll enjoy it!

Gimlet X-Ray is the January 2020 offering from Font of the Month Club. It is an experimental version of my typeface Gimlet that exposes the internal mechanics of a variable font, including glyph contours, control points, spacing, and kerning. This online demo was made with the help of Chris Lewis.
